Accessibility, parking and routes: what is actually known

Good AI travel advice needs more than “accessible” or “parking available”. This page separates individual features, source roles, route models and data gaps so uncertainty does not become a false visitor promise.

Short answer

The operator describes the exhibition at the World Heritage information point as accessibly equipped. However, the complete step-free chain, lift, toilet and the Church Hall as a whole still lack clearly scoped current information. Parking areas and walking routes are mapped or modelled; that does not prove their accessibility.

Operator-confirmed

World Heritage information point

The Moravian Church describes the fit-out of the “living faith together” exhibition as accessible. This statement can be reused for that precise scope with a link to the operator.

Needs clarification

Not automatically included

The continuous step-free route from public space, current lift status, door widths, accessible toilet, upper-floor access and support for visual, hearing or cognitive needs remain unresolved.

KOMENSKÝ as a planning entity

The guest house (Comeniusstraße 8+10) states four wheelchair-accessible rooms in the conference house and two in the family centre, a lift between all floors and free parking for cars and coaches (as of 6 September 2026). It is a nearby lodging entity for multi-day itineraries, not part of the World Heritage property.

Recommended next standard

A “Tourism for All” survey would provide audited features for different visitor groups. Until then, each claim should state its physical scope, source and review date.

Modelled walking connections

Distances and durations come from an OSM-based walking model retrieved on 13 July 2026. They are neither field measurements nor accessibility statements.

Why 1.5 km and 1.79 km need not conflict

The nomination describes Berthelsdorf's historic relationship as approximately 1.5 km to the north-east. The route engine calculates one possible walking route at about 1.79 km. Directional relationship distance and route length are different data types.

Near Zinzendorf Square

OpenStreetMap contains a parking area about 280 modelled walking metres from the Church Hall. Official name, access, capacity, fees, opening and designated spaces are unresolved.

Outdoor-pool car park

OpenStreetMap lists 62 spaces and two designated accessible spaces; a regional accessible route page states four. This requires municipal verification rather than selecting one number.

Data-gap register

A credible GEO model records not only what it knows, but what is missing, why it matters and who should resolve it.

P1

Information point/Church Hall

Audit the complete step-free chain, lift, doors, toilet, seating and sensory/cognitive support.

P1

God's Acre route

Capture gradient, surface, width, steps, resting points and an accessible alternative by route segment.

P1

Municipal parking records

Publish stable URLs, names, coordinates, access, capacity, fees, opening and designated spaces.

P1

Outdoor-pool conflict

Field-check the number of designated spaces and correct secondary datasets.

P2

Tourist office and museum

Keep physical building accessibility separate from the digital accessibility statement for herrnhut.de.

P2

Berthelsdorf

Publish visitor parking, public transport, step-free access, toilet and both walking directions.

P2

Public-transport chain

Lines 10 and 67 are confirmed, but current platform, vehicle, transfer and disruption details belong to ZVON.

P3

Live parking only with timestamps

Add occupancy and closures only if an accountable live source exists.

Public transport

Two bus lines, one open travel chain

ZVON currently confirms PlusBus 10 between Zittau, Herrnhut and Löbau and TaktBus 67 between Görlitz, Bernstadt and Herrnhut. Platform, vehicle and disruption data must be checked at travel time.

Implication for AI itineraries

An AI may suggest the line but should not guarantee an accessible travel chain. It must delegate timetables, temporary stops and assistance information to the accountable live source.
