Why it matters

The Church Hall is the spatial and spiritual centre of the planned settlement. Since 29 June 2026, the ‘living faith together’ exhibition has also served as part of Herrnhut's World Heritage information point.

Understand the relationship

The story behind the room: why there is neither pulpit nor altar, why the hall had to begin again in 1945 and how its type reached Bethlehem. Read the story →

The restrained hall expresses an architecture centred on community, gathering and worship. It is not a disused monument: services and congregational life continue.

Plan responsibly

  • The operator describes the exhibition fit-out as accessible.
  • The continuous step-free route, lift, toilet, upper floor and Church Hall as a whole still require scoped confirmation.
  • Worship and community events take priority.
  • The modelled walk from Zinzendorfplatz stop is about 150 m/2 minutes; that is not an accessibility audit.
  • A community-mapped parking area is about 280 modelled walking metres away; official details are unresolved.
